Types of Treatment

There are many treatment options for an overweight or obese patient. Consult a physician, and or a healthcare professional before beginning any of the treatments listed on this website.

Each type of treatment has its own benefits and risks. Treatments such as taking medication or pursuing weight loss surgery should be used as a last resort. Other treatments can be altered and used in combination to fit the needs of a particular individual in order to have the maximum effect. For example, a combination of the right diet and levels of physical activity or exercise can often be all that's necessary for a patient to achieve their weight loss goals.
