Welcome To The Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Resource Center

Approximately 24 million people in the United States have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD, but approximately 12 million of those aren't even aware that they have it. COPD is the fourth leading cause of death in the US, accounting for more than 120,000 deaths annually. As many as 1.5 million ER visits and 726,000 hospitalizations each year are for COPD. These cost more than 43 to 46 billion dollars per year.

This site has been created for medical directors to serve as an up-to-date resource center to provide the latest information and the various techniques in use and being developed to help improve patient outcomes for patients who suffer from COPD.
